CardBus was a new standard for attaching external drives. The SeriTek/1SM2 PC Card is a Type II 32-bit Cardbus compatible host adapter with 1.5Gbps transfer speeds to enable older notebook computers to connect with SATA hard disk drives. This 2-port version permits hot-swapping of drives, and ease-of-use comparable to USB and FireWire when using MacBook Pro computers.
