Epson Moverio AR
With the release of its Moverio BT-100 in November 2012, Epson introduced Augmented Reality. The goggles enable you to see what’s in front of you at the same time as you view the video overlay. The arms contain pico projectors that aim images onto mirrors in the lenses. It plays and projects audio, video, and photos. Video is limited to 960 x 540. Since there is a projector for each eye, 3D video works, too.
The physical screen is 0.52 inches, but simulates a screen of 320 inches located 20 meters away. A pocket-sized controller runs Android 2.2 connected via WiFi. Internal memory is 1 GB is augmented with an SDHC card of up to 32 GB. Epson forecast sales of 10,000 at $770. Battery life is 6 hours. A thoughtful detail: You can use it while wearing other glasses.
