Cue C.A.T.
The Cue C.A.T (marketed as :CueCat) was a glorified barcode reader designed to scan and the instantly open an encoded webpage. Of course, it was shaped like a cat. In 2000, it was distributed for free by Digital Convergence Corporation. The revenue was to come from merchants who would pay for the proprietary bar code appearing in any printed material. The company even experimented with an audio tone to be read from a radio or television.
It is still capable of reading general-purpose barcode. However, it connects only via an ADB-type cable.
